Pence was asked about President Donald Trump defending Mohammed bin Salman and saying he ‘knew nothing’ about the 2018 killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
‘What I can tell you is that I would not have made that statement, ’ Pence said.
US intelligence officials have said the Crown Prince had ordered the murder of the Washington Post columnist.
The former Vice President of the United States was at Chatham House to discuss US foreign policy.
