A total of forty seven have been hurt with at least one child left seriously injured after a car struck fans during Liverpool FC’s Premier League victory parade through the city – with a British man detained.
Footage of the incident which was circulating online appeared to show the vehicle speed up as it veered into pedestrians on both sides of Water Street, in Liverpool.
Officers surrounded the car very soon after, as witnesses attempted to stop the driver, who was eventually detained by police shortly after 6pm.
