France election: Mbappe urges youth to vote and defeat extremism

Krishnan Guru-Murthy: France’s star footballer Kylian Mbappé has urged young people to vote in the country’s snap general election – describing it as a "crucial moment" in French history.

And, he warned that "extremists" were close to winning power.

President Macron took a huge political gamble by suddenly calling the vote – and his centrist alliance is now in serious danger of defeat by the far right, and the far-left.
