France formally recognised the state of Palestine at the United Nations on Monday, a day after the UK and others. French President Emmanuel Macron made the declaration at a UN conference chaired by France and Saudi Arabia aimed at generating new support for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which long precedes the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
Six charities have severed ties with Sarah, Duchess of York, including several children’s organisations, after emails emerged showing her calling convicted paedophile and financier Jeffrey Epstein a “supreme friend”. Emails reported over the weekend revealed that Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of the Duke of York, “humbly apologised” to Epstein for linking him to paedophilia in the media, calling him “steadfast” and “generous”.
And Chancellor Rachel Reeves has told ITV News "hostile states like Russia" are behind some of the cyberattacks the UK has experienced in recent months. Addressing the resilience of UK businesses to deal with increasing threats to cyber security, Reeves said both the government and businesses needed to "step up" in their efforts to combat the danger.
