France no confidence vote – how did we get here?

Michel Barnier has lost a no confidence vote, becoming the shortest serving French prime minister ever

This vote was called after Barnier tried to force through a budget without a vote just three months after he was installed by President Macron. Opposition parties on the left and right are expected to unite to force him from office.
