Francois Bayrou appointed French Prime Minister

French President Macron has named Francois Bayrou as the country’s new prime minister, the fourth one this year.

It comes after the current PM Michel Barnier resigned last week following a vote of no-confidence. The French government has been in deadlock since the summer elections where no one party has a majority.
