French far-right leader Jean-Marie Le Pen dies

The founder of France’s far-right National Front Jean-Marie Le Pen has died at the age of 96.

He led the National Front from 1972 until 2011 when his daughter Marine Le Pen took over.

Le Pen was one of France’s most controversial political figures, known for his extremist views on race, gender and immigration.
