Normal People author Sally Rooney risks committing a terrorist offence if she funds the banned organisation Palestine Action, No 10 warned on Monday.
Writing in The Irish Times over the weekend, the award-winning Irish author said she intends to use BBC royalties and book earnings to fund the group, which was recently proscribed as a terrorist organisation in the UK.
"I want to be clear that I intend to use these proceeds of my work, as well as my public platform generally, to go on supporting Palestine Action and direct action against genocide in whatever way I can," the author wrote.
