Peru has a long history of gold hunters, from the 15th century conquistadors searching for the mythical city of El Dorado – to the modern day mining tycoons.
But now the global instability of trade wars and real wars, has sent the market value of gold skyrocketing, as people look for a stable investment.
This has sparked a new gold rush and in Peru, one of the top 5 gold producers in the world, this means war – as our Latin America Correspondent Guillermo Galdos has been discovering.
