Gaza: hundreds of thousands return to homes reduced to rubble

The UN says more than 375,000 Palestinians have been returning to what’s left of their homes in Northern Gaza, facing a huge level of destruction and the absence of any key services.

The head of the UN relief agency for Palestinians, UNWRA, has said an Israeli ban on their operations, due to come into effect on Thursday, would be "disastrous" – warning it could heighten instability and undermine the ceasefire in Gaza.
