Hamas has said it will not disarm unless an independent Palestinian state is established with Jerusalem as its capital.
The statement comes after Keir Starmer announced the UK will take the step of recognising Palestinian statehood in September.
Professor Michael Clarke has warned that the peace making process is at a ‘complete dead end’ adding that ‘there is no political idea about what will happen at the end of the Gaza crisis’.
