Protesters have been met with force in Nepal over alleged government corruption and a controversial bill that has blocked social media platforms including Facebook, X and YouTube, killing at least 14 people according to reports.

The new bill blocks sites that haven’t registered with authorities – an attempt to crackdown on issues like fake news, fraud and hate speech according to the government of Nepal.
But many people in the country say the bill is an attack on free speech, designed to censor anti-government voices.
