Oscar-winning actor Gene Hackman and his wife, pianist Betsy Arakawa, have been found dead at their New Mexico home.
The 95-year-old actor and his 64-year-old wife, along with their dog, were discovered after police conducted a welfare check.
Hackman, whose career spanned four decades, won two Academy Awards for his roles in The French Connection and Unforgiven.
Filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola has led tributes, calling Hackman "magnificent" and "inspiring."
