Germany commemorates November 1938 pogroms and fall of the Berlin Wall | DW News

November 9th marks the anniversary of two crucial dates in German history: the "Mauerlfall" or fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9th, 1989, and the November pogroms, which were perpetrated by the Nazis against Jews on November 9th, 1938. During a German Parliament ceremony on November 9th, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier discussed the significance of these two dates in German history, as well as the challenges currently facing German democracy.
