Germany’s AfD classified as “right-wing extremist” entity

Germany’s domestic intelligence agency has classified the Alternative for Germany as a "right-wing extremist" entity, allowing it to increase surveillance of the party.

The AfD – which came second in February’s national elections – has called it a "severe blow to German democracy".
