Goats used to tackle fires in Spain

Hundreds of goats have been deployed in Spain’s Catalonia region to help tackle forest fires.

The pilot scheme in the city of Mataro – part funded by the EU – involves taking the goats to graze on flammable undergrowth like thistles and brush – creating natural firebreaks.
