New laws will tackle the rogue operators who carry out "cowboy" cosmetic procedures, which can result in serious complications, scarring, and in some cases death.
It follows a 2 year investigation by ITV News into the unregulated industry where we filmed practitioners with little or no medical training carrying out procedures.
Under new Government proposals, only qualified health professions will be able to carry-out high risk treatments such as non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lifts. Clinics offering cosmetic procedures will also need to be licensed.
The move has been welcomed by some of those who’ve suffered.
