Government in limbo over asylum seeker housing after court ruling

The government is working on contingency plans after a court decision yesterday that asylum seekers can no longer be housed at a former hotel in Epping.

With several other councils believed to be considering similar legal challenges, the government says it’s focused on clearing the asylum backlog to reduce the need for hotels.
