Ed Miliband has given a carefully-worded response as to whether he supports a third runway at Heathrow airport.
The energy secretary had previously threatened to resign if the Heathrow expansion was given the go-ahead.
But he told Sky’s Anna Jones he was now backing the government’s position, if reluctantly.
"Obviously, I abide by collective responsibility and what the government’s done," he said.
He added: "But it’s really important that, you know, that these have got to meet strict carbon budgets and local environmental standards.
"And then an assessment will be made about whether a third runway can do that."
