‘Grossly deficient’: Martin Reynolds admits No 10 Covid plans were inadequate

Boris Johnson’s former principal private secretary Martin Reynolds was asked to confirm that in early March 2020, No 10 did not have plans to deal with a Covid pandemic. Reynolds replied that existing structures were in place but were inadequate. When pushed further he agreed that any preparation was ‘grossly deficient’.
