Hainault ‘sword’ attack: police officer suffers ‘horrifically serious’ injuries

A female police officer involved in the operation to subdue a man with a sword in east London yesterday has undergone hours of surgery after suffering what the Metropolitan Police Commissioner said was "horrifically serious" arm injuries.
