Leaders in the Middle East and Europe have welcomed the proposals that would see an immediate ceasefire, plus a phased withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza and Hamas releasing all remaining hostages.
But one of Mr Netanyahu’s own coalition partners, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich attacked the deal for being too soft on Hamas.
