The winner of the Gorton and Denton by-election Hannah Spencer has been sworn in to Parliament as the Green Party’s newest MP.
Ms Spencer is the first Green MP to ever come into parliament on a by-election win and before she entered parliament, she spoke to ITV News about her aims as an MP.
She said: "One of the things I want to do is restore trust in politics and I think we’ve gone some way to show that in the election here.
The new MP, aged 34, was called forward by Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle at the start of parliamentary business on 2 March.
