Maui County has reported an increase in the overall number of fatalities from the fires in Lahaina, Pulehu and Upcountry, increasing the death toll to 55.
Residents who fled a deadly Maui wildfire are questioning why Hawaii’s emergency sirens did not alert them as the flames rapidly approached their homes.
