Rescuers have guided hundreds of trekkers trapped on Mount Everest to safety. Unusually heavy snowfall and rainfall have battered the Himalayas. According to Chinese state media, the hikers have reached the small township of Qudang, and rescuers have made contact with the remaining 200 trekkers.
