Hollinrake: Rayner should not take severance payment

Kevin Hollinrake, the Conservative Party chair, says Angela Rayner, who resigned on Friday after questions over her tax bill, should not take a £17,000 severance payment.

He told Sky News: "Angela Rayner voted in February last year that no minister who was being investigated or who was guilty of this kind of offence should ever receive a severance payment.

"I expect her to be as good as her word."
