Ruth Posner is a dancer, actress, choreographer and teacher. She speaks five languages and has lived all over the world with her husband Michael. She has carried with her a remarkable and harrowing story of persecution and survival during the Holocaust.
Born in Poland in 1929, Ruth was ten when Germany invaded her country. Her parents were among the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis. But thanks to the courage and ingenuity of her loved ones, Ruth managed to live on.
Michael Portillo asked Ruth to mark Holocaust Memorial Day by sharing her story this week, speaking at her home in London where, aged 94, she continues to lead a full and rich life.
