The home secretary will make a statement in the Commons today to announce changes to the asylum system – and highlight efforts to tackle illegal migration.
Yvette Cooper will address MPs as they return to Parliament following the summer break.
She will set out proposals to change the refugee family reunion process to give "greater fairness and balance" and bring the rules more in line with other European countries.
