Thousands of resident doctors in England will walk out on Friday for a five-day strike, which hospital bosses have branded "reckless".
The industrial action is set to cause widespread disruption, with hospital trusts pledging to do everything to postpone as few appointments as possible.
However, the British Medical Association states that doctors’ pay is still too low, despite an increase last year that halted the last round of strikes.
The Government insists it cannot afford to pay more.
