A hot-air balloon caught fire in the state of Santa Catarina on Saturday morning. Renan Fernandes, of the Santa Catarina fire brigade, said: ‘Twenty-one people were present, eight of whom died and 13 survived.’ According to the fire department, 13 survivors were transported to nearby hospitals.
