How could a Brexit ‘reset’ deal impact British fishing?

UK and EU leaders will soon gather in London for what’s been branded a Brexit ‘reset’. But ahead of that summit, fishing has again surfaced as a political battle line.

EU fleets can currently fish in UK waters as part of a deal that’s due to expire next summer.

But the British fishing industry says that access should come at a price, and with Sir Keir Starmer angling for a defence pact with the EU, they fear he’ll cave into European demands to extend the current deal, in a new Brexit betrayal.
