Parts of Britain sweltered in temperatures of more than 28 Celcius today — the start of a possible Bank Holiday heatwave which could break the record for May’s hottest ever day.
Forecasters predict the current record of 32 point 8 celsius could be beaten on Monday.
Heat health alerts are in place for large parts of England – Yellow in the South West and the North – and the more serious Amber across the Midlands, East Anglia and the South East.
There’s also a warning that the most serious skin cancers are on the rise.
