The Chancellor has told ITV News that every little helps when it comes to supporting households with the Cost of Living Crisis. It came as Rachel Reeves slashed VAT on tickets for zoos, museums and theme parks and also on children’s meals in restaurants and cafes.
It’s part of what’s been called the "Great British Summer Savings Scheme".
There will be free bus travel for children aged 5 to 15 across England, and a rise in fuel duty has been scrapped.
The Government’s also reducing tariffs on more than 100 different supermarket foods with retailers expected to pass on the savings to customers.
The Food and Drink Federation says it will only reduce the average weekly shop by 10 pence.
