How much of a deterrent would Western troops on the ground in Ukraine be for Moscow? | DW News

Nearly four years after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the U.S. president is pushing for a peace deal. Ukraine and its European allies say that any ceasefire agreement must include robust security guarantees for Ukraine; otherwise, they fear Russia could launch a new attack.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with key European allies and top U.S. envoys in Paris. However, Trump’s actions in Venezuela have raised questions about whether the U.S. could soon turn its attention away from Ukraine and European security entirely.
