Sky’s Mollie Malone witnesses prison drone drops at HMP Wandsworth and HMP Long Lartin – a prison that houses some of the country’s most dangerous offenders.
Drone-related incidents at UK prisons have surged by 43% in just a year, with warnings that in the near future they could be used to lift inmates out of their cells, carrying payloads of 80kgs.
The Chief Inspector of Prisons, Charlie Taylor, told Sky News some of the footage obtained showing a drone hovering above a high security jail is ‘terrifying’.
Mollie Malone speaks to nearby residents who say these drops are happening almost daily.
