Pope Leo has started the second day of his trip to Turkey, meeting with bishops and other church officials in Istanbul. He also met with Turkey’s small Catholic community – and urged them not to seek political influence and said they should instead focus on helping migrants in Turkey. Leo has made care for migrants and refugees a priority of his papacy. He later visited a nursing home that looks after poverty-stricken older people.
