Britain could be set to lose one pub a day in 2026, according to experts at the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA).
New data from the BBPA showed that England saw 226 pubs close in total in the first nine months of the year, while 64 shut their doors in Scotland and five closed in Wales.
Overall, 295 British pubs shut by the end of September since the start of the year.
Despite recent business rate discounts, some pub operators are blaming high tax burdens and regulatory costs affecting the sector.
