
The U.S. Senate has passed a bill to end the longest government shutdown in American history. Senators voted 60–40 to approve the legislation that would restore funding for federal agencies. The compromise also stalls President Trump’s campaign to downsize the federal workforce. However, the deal still needs to be approved by the House of Representatives.
