In Istanbul, officials have arrested at least eight people after all four members of a German-Turkish family fell ill and died last week. A preliminary forensic report showed they were likely exposed to toxic chemicals at their hotel. The family checked into a hotel on November 9th and sought medical help on November 12th after suffering severe nausea and vomiting. Despite receiving treatment, they felt worse. The father called an ambulance, but the hotel entrance doors were locked. It took several minutes for the family to get into the ambulance until the receptionist returned and opened the doors. The two children died the next day, followed by their mother a day later, followed by their father after days in intensive care.
DW Correspondent Dorian Jones reports on the death of four family members.
