How UK government is cracking down on ‘honour-based’ abuse

It’s known as "honour-based" abuse – violence carried out against people accused of bringing shame on either themselves, their family or community – and the government is cracking down on it with a series of new measures.

It means crimes like female genital mutilation or forced marriage will have a specific legal definition – which families of those affected hope will enable police to provide victims with much better protection.
