Sky’s business correspondent Paul Kelso discusses how planned changes to the government’s fiscal rules are likely to affect the UK economy.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves announced earlier today that she will rewrite the self-imposed rules in the autumn budget to allow her to increase borrowing for public investment by around £50bn.
Ms Reeves cited support for increasing the debt threshold from leading British economists, as well as the International Monetary Fund, which has said public investment is "badly needed" in the UK.
