Plans to scrap Ofwat and create a single regulator for the water sector have been announced by the environment secretary, after a landmark review into the industry concluded it should be replaced.
Following publication of the review, Steve Reed called the move "the biggest overhaul of water regulation in a generation."
The much-anticipated final report from the Independent Water Commission, led by former Bank of England deputy governor Sir Jon Cunliffe, outlined 88 recommendations to the UK and Welsh governments to turn around the ailing industry.
