Flash flooding brought by heavy rains has killed more than 400 people across parts of Pakistan, India-administered Kashmir and Nepal, authorities have said.
Scores of people remain missing, and at least 321 people died in the space of 48 hours in northwest Pakistan, officials reported on Saturday.
Pakistani officials said rescuers since Thursday have evacuated more than 3,500 tourists trapped in flood-hit areas across the country, after many travellers ignored government warnings to avoid vulnerable regions in the north and northwest.
More than ten villages in the Buner region of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province were devastated by flash flooding, as landslides and flooded roads prevented emergency workers from accessing communities.
Five crew members of a rescue helicopter were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province after it crashed during relief efforts, a local official said.
