The search for a US army reservist suspected of carrying out a mass shooting in the US state of Maine has entered its second day after officials executed search warrants in the town where he lived.

Robert Card, 40, is suspected of killing 18 people and wounding 13 others in shootings at a bar and a bowling alley in Lewiston. On Thursday, police surrounded a rural home owned by Card’s family in neighbouring Bowdoin for more than two hours, with an FBI agent issuing orders to ‘come out with your hands up’, but apparently nobody was inside.
