'I am asking everyone to make a contribution' - Chancellor defends income tax threshold freeze

Chancellor Rachel Reeves says confirmed that income tax and National Insurance thresholds will remain frozen at their current level until 2031, meaning more people will pay higher rates.

The previous Conservative government froze thresholds from 2021 to 2028, so it’s being drawn out for an extra three years.
