Frazer has PTSD after seeing a graphic video on a classmate’s phone. It’s an example of why calls to ban smartphones in schools are growing.
The eighteen‑year‑old has spent most of his adolescence living with the consequences of something he never chose to see.
He was just 12, going on 13 years old and in Year 8, when a classmate pushed a phone into his face during breaktime.
Frazer’s experience is not an isolated case, according to clinicians.
Dr Emily Sehmer, a consultant child psychiatrist, says she sees similar stories far too often.
