'I won't interfere if water bosses jailed', environment secretary says

Environment Secretary Steve Reed has committed that he won’t interfere with courts sending water bosses to prison over sewage, if that’s what they decide.

Earlier this year, powers were introduced that could see water sector leaders who cover up illegal sewage spills sent to prison for up to two years.

Sky’s deputy political editor Sam Coates asked Reed if he could pledge there would be no political interference in these criminal investigations.
