Iceland volcano erupts for fifth time shooting lava 50m into air

A volcanic eruption has begun on the Reykjanes peninsula in south-western Iceland sending plumes of lava 50 metres into the air. The eruptions occurred near Grindavik, the fishing town near the famous Blue Lagoon. The eruption was the fifth to occur on the peninsula since December. Most of the 4,000 residents of Grindavík were permanently evacuated in November
