Iceland volcano: spectacular footage captured by coastguard and witnesses

Coastguard and eyewitness footage on Monday night showed a volcano in southwest Iceland erupting, spewing lava and smoke across a wide area. The eruption on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula prompted the country’s civil defence to be on high alert.
