ICJ orders that Israel must prevent incitement of genocide in Gaza

Israel must take all possible measures to prevent death, destruction and any acts of genocide in Gaza, the UN’s top court has declared in its interim ruling.

But South Africa – which brought the case – didn’t succeed in getting the court to order an immediate ceasefire.

Israel, which now has a month to report back on what measures it has taken to comply, has condemned South Africa’s allegations of genocide as "not only false, but outrageous".
